How do you change from Kilometers to Miles on a old BMW?

I just got a old 1996 BMW and was wondering how to change the mpg computer from metric to miles? Thanks in advance

Find some body who has got carsoft diagnostics or similar it takes about 2 minutes, or your BM dealer.

or

purchase the interface and leads from ebay and I will find you a link to down load Carsoft 6.5 ,which comes as a zipped file, un zip, burn to disc and away you go. You will need a laptop though!!

I own a 2000 BMW Z3 2.8 with 44,000 miles on it. Today, I drove my car , which had ½ tank of gas for 20 minutes, parked it for 25 minutes and when I started it the following occurred:

A - The fuel gauge needle falls to empty, but the low fuel light does not come on.
B – The water temperature gauge needle falls to cold and the red overheat light comes on.
C – The Brake Pad warning light comes on.

I immediately stopped at a gas station, filled the tank and checked the cooling system for leaks or signs of overheating. I found nothing wrong.

When I restarted the car, everything returned to normal, except the odometer switched from reading in miles to reading in kilometers.

Do you have a clue as to what could cause such wacky behavior?
and how can I change it back to miles not KM

I would say low ampage from the battery, get it checked, the first things that start goning funny when the batt is low is the OBC, radio or cluster.
