meditek is an unknown quantity at this point
Keeps popping out of the grill instead of when I pull release. What actually holds it in?

I guess that means the latch didn't catch fully when the hood is closed.
Did you try pushing the hood further down firmly with your hands?
It's either that or the cable or something needs some lubrication.

The hood stays locked down. It's just that the release handle between the grill won't stay out of sight. It keeps popiing back. It used to just appear when I activated the release in the cockpit.
