Question high mileage???

I have saw a good deal on a 520iSE but it has 164,000 miles on the clock?
Is this excessive? I have previously only driven smaller cars that wouldn't ever last this long. It looks in really good condition and it seems to have been well looked after. what's kind of mileage will these car last to?

Thanks.
Brian.
