well i have a E34 535i but i don't want to change the fog lights i want to keep the ones i have on it already.. i was wondering if there is a why to by pass the switch so that it wouldn't shut off the fog lights when the high beams come on... sorry should have made myself more clear.
i'm pretty sure there is a way to rewire ur fog lights, but i'm not sure what it is. I know a friend of mine with a nissan maxima did it, and knows how to rewire it on his car. So i bet when it comes to it, bmw is no different.
you might want to go to bmwtips.com they have a lot of help threads
