Help.... Trans Program Problem

Does Anyone Know What Can Cause A Trans Program To Come Up On Dash Indicator. My Car Has Shifted Into Safe Mode Twice. What Are Some Things I Can Check (mabey Lose Wires Or Connections). It Has Done It Twice While Turning. If You Have Any Ideas Please Let Me Know. I Need To Get Her Fixed..................

It means get me home safely as im not well!!!, and in 3rd gear basically, so you dont damage anything.

When was the last time the box got a service? should be 80,000miles then 30-40,000 thereafter.

not sure just bought the car. it has 230.000 miles on it

Ok, Im guessing thats its due for a box service, I would not be surprised if its never had one, get it done asap also whilst your at it get the rear diff oil changed.

not yet, i changed the a/m selector switch next to shifter. i was told that is common to go out and cause the problem but it did not help. the next thing i might try is the differential speed sensor.it is a fairly cheep repair. if it works i will let you know, but it might be a while, so if you fix yours first please let me know. thanks.......................

So I presume you have given it a fluid a filter change ????

not yet, that is also the next step. the TRANS PROGRAM in the owners manual says that the transmission control module is at fault, do you have any knowledge of this..

The transmission control unit (TCM/EGS) is located in the "E" box. This is in the engine compartment at the top right side, there are 4 phillips screws holding the cover on.

Once the cover is removed the TCM/EGS will be visible. The order will vary depending on model year.
