help please with my 528I!

just wrecked my E36...just bought a 97 528I...what E series is it?, and where can i find parts? first is the window regulator (driver front) and the steering wheel motor pulls in and out not up and down but i hear the motor working...the key>>>is it just a light or is it an alarm modual? I like this car and want to find a good parts place and manual...thanks for the help in advance!

'97 is an E39.

key should do locking (bmw symbol in centre of key), unlock on one button and open boot on the other button. Interior lights come on when you press unlock, even if its unlocked - nice on dark winer evenings I find E39 you have is a great model - had mins 8 months and lovin it!

Yes, you have an E39. For best prices, go to auto parts world. For cool aftermarket stuff and hard to find stuff, go to Bavarian Auto or AutohausAZ. Let me know if you need an alternator or LHS tie rod.

thanks guys! yes i like this car too..im definately a BMW guy from now on! how a bout the driver window regulator? its a heck of a cable/pully mess! a plastic piece broke of the end up the left pully(up) and ruins the whole thing! im sure to have more, so thanks for the help guys!

where is the reciever? i take it the key is the transmitter? and my on board diagnostic computer is not working...any suggestions?
