my pcv valve froze!!! i found out it is called a regulated oil seprator valve !!does anybody have a walk through!! .... i found the parts at pelican, around $150.00 for new hoses and all .but how bad is it my local dealer is $1,000.00 yikes!!!!

if it's not bad for that i will do it. I would really love it if some one has pictures but what ever anybody has would be apprecated

In the link below check out pages 5, 6, & 7, Air/Oil Seperator: this is a link for a Supercharger install for the (e36 2.8 eng. which is the same in the 528i)......this is not easy to get to being that it is under your intake manifold, but it does not look impossible to replace....

Actually, disregard, the 2000 model 528i is different than the e36.....I do know it's mounted under the intake manifold....looks like this.....

ok new update ... this is a common problem in cold areas (boston) but it also causes other problems i need to do the valve cover gasket now and some other part !!! the newer models have an insulated part but the replacement is no diffrent than the orignal and it can happen again, my tab at the dealer is going to end up $1,500.00 +

well, thats what it costs to get it fixed. its not a cake walk, ill tell you that.

i am just not used to fixing this car it's not bad i haven't had anything go wrong with it in 8 yrs.... tires,oil,brakes .... is there anything else i should be looking out for?
