I'm new to the forum, and I need some help...I'm looking for some direction. I just got a 1986 BMW 528e . I'm pretty happy. But I was wondering if you all know of any cheap speed/performance upgrades for the car. It runs like a 10 second 0-60, which isn't painful, but I'd like some more speed, you know? Can anyone suggest anything?
(My friend also said he thinks I should try a different bimmer engine, he'd put it in for me. But I don't want to lose the awesome mpg. please help)
A bigger engine is probably going to use more gas.Stay with engine you have,and if you are really keen and have some spare cash contact DINAN performance in California.You will find them helpful but not cheap.I fitted one of their chips to my 540 which did make quite a difference.I'm not sure where you are but was there much price dif between a 528 and a 540 ?
