Help with new 5 series

Hi I have just put in my order for a new 5 series in the UK - The car mags say its is MP3 compatable but I cant see much in the broucher and the dealers do not seem to be sure.

I am wanting to connect my MP3 player to the car as I do in my 3 series (I have a cable which attaches to the 6 cd changer connection in the boot which I run through to the front of the car.

Just to be clear I am not adding an IPOD its another MPŁ player so all I needs is an aux input.

I have ordered the comms pack which comes with the proff sat nav, Blue tooth and 6 cd changer.

I have gone for the sport model and upgraded the wheels to the 172m 19" m sport wheels - does anyone have any photos of these on their cars - not seen many in the UK.

Thanks

Any help would be appriciated.

Checkout this search for lots of mp3 info.

FYI: depending on the condition of the roads in your area, many of the european owners did not order the sport package as the roads are too bad of condition and will probably damage a lowered, thin sidewall tire/rim.

Thanks for your help.

I also spoke to the dealer and reviewed the posts have some more questions and information which might be usefull to others:-

INFORMATION - copy of e-mail from BMW

There is no iPod connector in the car but you can retro-fit the "AUX-IN" socket from Aftersales and play iPod music - but this does not charge etc. Details available from Aftersales Marketing.

The single CD player plays MP3 music files now without navigation or with 606 Navigation Business - from November's production it will also play MP3 music files with 609 Navigation Professional.

Regards

BMW UK

QUESTION - Has anyone fitted the aux cable themselves - if so how easy is it to do? - I have fitted one to my 3 series and also my wifes mini

P.S. if you fancy taking a look at my cars you can check them out on:-

P.P.S - thanks for the tips on the wheels - I have gone for the Standard Sport wheels instead of the upgrade - they are simular to the ones I had on my 320cdi the even lower profile I am sure would have had an adverse effect on the ride
