so my transmission is slipping that i know i need to have rebuilded. The issue is that when i turn on the ignition the car starts but when i let it idle the revs are flutuating and sometimes eventually the engine stops.
what i have checked so far is all the hose connections in the engine bay. All hoses connected. also i have checked the airflow meter hose which is located around the air intake system. i found nothing wrong with the hose and it is connected.
Anyone help.
Do you have the bentley manual if not it's a good place to start. Vaccum leaks will cause eratic idle plugged fuel filter, air filter, fuel pressure.
Also if you want more accurate help you probably want to let people know what type of engine you have. Look for DTC those are the easiest way to find and locate problems.
In addition to the hoses did you check your intake boot? What about under the intake manifold?
Sounds like you have a vacuum leak, or your ICV or PCV valve has gone bad. Their is a PDF copy of the Bentley Manual available which will definitley help.
