Help, My 535E keeps dying.

We just dont know whats happening, driving along nothing spectacular and jerk it dies, wont restart for hours usually over 6hrs then it will start again no problem, Husband is a Mechanic but he is stumped also, Any Ideas what the culprit may be?we are tired of ghead on the wall. any help will be greatly appreciated. oh yea this might be helpfull lol its a 1985 535i automatic

Forgot to mention that we have spark, and fuel pressure but no fuel pulse, Where does that come from? The pulse that is.

reference sensor. pull it out of the side of trans bellhousing and make sure the pin on the flywheel is still there.

If The Pin Wasnt Still There Would it run? Because it does this is an intermittant problem. When it dies its just all of a sudden then it wont start for a few hours then it will.

Have you checked the AFM?

Does anyone think it could be the fuel relay?

There are 2 sensors by the firewall mounted on a bracket on top of the engine. One of them is the fuel injectors speed sensor. It will have to be replaced. Can't remember if it the white or black one.
