I need to replace the high pressure power steering hose that goes from the pump to the Box. In the diagram below its number 5 part # 32411093926. Its a for 2001 540I Manual. If anyone can provide DIY info it would be highly appreciated.
How difficult is it to replace?...My main concern is how hard is it to get to the back connection?
Its not that hard. The biggest problem is the small space to do it in. Read the DIY above. The poster mentions using a jack to lift the engine a bit for more room. This helps. Its much easier on the E46 as theirs more room.
Go slow, take your time. Expect it to take at least an hour. Since your replacing the hose, you should really replace the resevoir. They have a non serviceable filter, and they can get gunked up. Its always recommended that you change the resevoir any time you need to change the fluid.
