Help E39 folding mirrors

Hi can anyone help me I own an E39 2.8 1998 touring, it came with the electric folding mirrors. Unfortunatly some little git last night decided to hit my n/s wing mirror casuing it to be folded in when the other is out. Can anyone give me any advice on how to sort out the problem as the electric for the mirror still works just doesn't fold out when the button is pressed.

Many thanks in advance.

Hmmmmm.....tricky one! i would see if it will pull back out manually, as if the mechanism is already broken your going to need a replacement anyway, they must be able to take an impact and be pulled back out....as bmw would have to have a warehouse full and these would be their biggest sellers.

I had the same problem before with my 530-2002, I pulled it out/in manually & it starts working again normally without any replacement or workshop fixing.
