Please help!! I don't know how I managed to do it, but in detailing under the hood and/or in checking the condition of the air filter, I managed to crack the plastic tube/housing for the air mass flow meter (about 5" long, 3-1/2" diameter). The crack goes the whole 5" length of the tube, but nothing else is harmed (screen is ok, sensor itself is fine). I have temprarily repaired it using some high-temp RTV to seal it inside and out, but will definitely need to replace the tube. All I've found is the whole meter itself for about $300.
Anyway to just get the tube? Anyone? Anyone? ......

Just had to replace my MAF.... I looked everywhere for just the sensor... (opposite problem that you are having)... It seems that it only comes as one piece ( the sensor and the tube).
Hmmmm.... I think I still have the old one... If you cover the shipping from Arizona to you, I will send my old unit... you will need a #20 Torx security bit ( i think it is a #20) or some other means of swapping your sensor for mine--mine is DEFINATELY shot.
let me know and I will make sure I didn't pitch mine.

Happy Guy -
You could definitely make ME a very happy guy myself if you have just the tube! After sealing the crack with some Permatex ultra-black hi-temp RTV, I get no trouble codes, but now I am paranoid that some piece of my sealant fix could get sucked into the engine, and then I'm looking at an infinitely bigger headache, so now I am afraid to drive it anywhere...
I'll e-mail you with my direct e-mail info.
Eric S.
