Help 540i

I have a 94 540i series. On my warning control panel i get a door open warning acompanied with a very irritating ding. Wouldn't be so bad if it did once it does it roughly the whole time I drive. I have openned and shut the doors, trunk, gas door. Still nothing. Please help. Is there a fuse I can change to get rid of the dinging??? Thanks

Try lubricating you door locks with WD40.

I will try that. We had a snow storm and my car was snowwed in and I have noticed the trunk lock is real tough to turn. But I figured that it would probably have a different reading on the panel for the trunk

Ok so I did that and still nothing. Can you all think of a cheaper way to fix problem other then taking the car to the dealership?? I appreciate all the help!

Probably not a fuse but a connection, you might have to cut or remove to stop the sound. Hopefully doesn't get too annoying.

Check the wiring to the doors, it can have small breaks along the wiring. Also, get the Bentley manual. Its the little stuff with the E34, but they will run forever. I should know, I have two of them. Best of luck

most likely the switch is messed up(it is but the hindges I believe) it should be cheap

i'd just unplug the dinger!lol it's right above the brake pedal under the dash!.....or turn the radio up!!!
