I am a newb at owning a BMW although I have always wanted one since I saw Hans Stuck kick the competitions butt at Riverside in the 70's.
I have been lurking & searching this site for a while. Today my BMW was inspected for the state of MD.
Here are the findings and some questions.
1) Ball Joints bad.
I have to call him to find out if he meant upper or lower. (hopefully not both) These are not removable correct and I have to buy the complete arms?
2) Brake rotors too thin.
Got all 4 for less than 200 at advance auto.
3) Exhaust leak at center resonator.
Can this be removed or will it sound really crappy? Does anybody know where to get a good deal on this?
4) emergency flashers not working
any ideas?
Any help or input on these would be highly appreciated.
Also.... sometimes my car wont start (silent) then it will. Starter or relay ( i read here that the auto trannys have a relay that might be going bad or should I just replace the starter?
I have replaced the water pump the thermostat and learned about the whole bleeding ordeal and it runs cool now. I just have to legal it up now.
Hiya mate, great cars the E34 !!
1- They can be seperated but best to get the complete arm !
2- Great find !
3- Split it and get it patched, sealed or welded.
4- If your turn signals work as normal, then it is either a wiring fault TO the relay or the relay itself !
As for the starter, this could be an intermittant relay fault too, or even a dirty starter (Internally)...
Good luck...
