Hello everyone! I am the proud new owner of a 2000 528 wagon.one annoying issue.
i love my car... although i am having one annoying issue.
the alarm goes off everytime i touch "unlock" on my fob. i then cannot turn off the alarm using fob, manual locks or starting the car. the siren stops after about twenty seconds or so.
i have a feeling its due to the cold chicago weather because when the car is kept in a warm garage i have no issues.
when the siren stops i still have the lights that flash and will not shut off.
thank god the car will still start and drive. after about five minutes of driving the car "resets", and i have no issues.
ive done some research and have performed a voltage test on the battery....12.2 volts with the engine off.
ive discovered the hood switch was hanging off the plastic bracket under the hood, i disconnected it, thought that was the problem but nope, still the same problem.
can someone please point me in the right direction?
at least tell me where to disconnect the siren?
