baseman n00b Join Date: Feb 2009 Car: Posts: 1 Photos:	Heavy rattling from timingchain area Hello out there I am new to this excellent forum. I live in the south of Sweden. I have a E39, 540, -97, long mileage. A few days ago a sound ,hard rattling, occurred. It seems to come from the timing chain area. It hasn't affected the drivability but the noise is just scaring. I suspect it's something concerning the chain guides. I am looking for a description how to dismantle the chain covers or to get a hint of the mysterious rattling. Can anyone help me?
