Heater Problem - BMW Forum

My heater sometimes comes on when the car is off or sometimes when i a driving. The actually display isn't on but sure enough the fan comes on at will and shuts off at will. My battery has already drained a few times because of this and i am just hoping someone would know a fix for this. Sometimes I would get into the car and the heat fan is already on without any power to the car.

1997 528 130k now.

Just a quck update.. Battery is dead again.. I ran a volt meter across the batt, reads just under 12. I know its not the alternator since i get a reading of over 14 while engine is running.

I may end up pulling the fuse on the heater to see if this is the reason.

I think my entire climate control system is messed up. It comes on at will.. My outside anbient temp gives false readings somtimes of -30, then it climbs back up to normal temp, sparatically drops back down to 30....

Any help would be apprieciated.
