Ok, Its my first post, and yes i went thru the headlight sticky. which helped me but didnt resolve my needs or wants. here it is: On my 97 540i, I want to upgrade my lights but want 2 features i cant find in one light assembly.
I was looking at oem hella lights, from bekkers and so on or depot 39's.
I want to upgrade to xenon yes, but i want the clear (blinker)silver bulb with the amber corner marker, Now hella has the amber corner marker with the clear blinker.. but its angel eyes are not ccfl.
Now the e39depot lights have the ccfl angel eyes and projector xenons, but all come in the clear corner style. that is just not to my liking..(my personal opinion)
can someone anyone help me find what i want..
My optimal question would be can i get the hellas with the ccfl (demon eye) upgrade or is it difficult to DYI?
thanks in advance..
32 views No reply's, was it that much of a newb question on my part.
Or is it Impossible to get what i'am looking for?
If i cant have both options, i think ill much rather have the dim angel eyes then the clear corner. especially if the depot projector39 is a cheap product, Im sure there are many that have this product, How is it? does it fit neatly, Look good, and does it perform well..
what will i be giving up if i go with the depots as oppose to the Hellas. and or vice versa besides the corner marker and ccfl angel eye
Buy the hellas, and then buy Predator ICE from Umnitza to replace the dim bulbs with bright rings the same color as the xenons. Below is a picture of this technology on my cousin's black 528i/5 on the left, next to my 540i/6 with DDE's on the right. Yes, his are dimmer, but they're a lot brighter than stock.
Thanks tech Prof, i actually do like the lights on the left.. It doesn't seem like its scattering light... Now how difficult is the swap of the predator ice, from the dim angel eye?
do i have to take apart the whole assembly?
