Headlight Question.

Hi there, new here so go easy on me. I tried searching but couldn't find my answer.

I have a 92 525I and it has to broken lens on the low beam headlight. The bulb is fine, just the glass part is broken.

My question is, are the left and right universal. And what i mean is, could i put the left low beam light on the right side and vice versa?

The right and left are diffrent. You're going to have to buy the specific housing for the side of the car.

They're identical assemblies unless you have a european model car.

For OEM, Hella lists them with two different part numbers coupled with 2 different prices!!

Where did you find those?

Realoem lists different part numbers (and thats to be expected) but the prices are the same.

On a sidenote, I have taken both apart when I converted to HIDs. They are identical units inside and out regardless of part numbers and all that jazz.

Maybe I'd need a closer inspection as one of the mounting tabs may be in a SLIGHTLY different location, but they appeared identical. I'll check in the morning.
