I am new to the BMW world and ran across a very serious problem with my 1995 318i, I am pretty much mechanically inclined so working on it is no biggy for me. The question is can I swap a 318i to a 518i, I believe I blew a head gasket or warped the head on my 518i. Just wondering..... before I have to spend a arm and a leg, I am stationed in Germany so everything is pretty expensive for me but I have to fix this issue.
Well after doing some research on this site I finally just took the head off today and found out I guess you can call good bad news. The head gasket was the only bad thing on my car whew as bad as that sounds at least the head was not the bad thing if you catch my drift. I am not scared to open up a car engine but I am worried about how much I have to spend on it. I also own serveral ford (mustangs) but the bmw is also fun for me, in case yall didnt know I own a 1995 518i (Euro spec). I am still learning the car little by little also I am not to familiar with the car as a mustang but like I said I am learning the car little by little. I am stationed in Germany and its a whole new world to me here, especially with the car. Once again this site has opened my eyes to a whole different era of cars which I am starting to like more and more. Any additional specs of my car from you guys would really be appreciated. Thanks alot,
rudy c.
