Having a hard time finding the right part. 2001 530i
Hey guys, my mom recently hit a curb and damaged the left side of the front bumper. I took it to a local body shop to see what needs to be done, and he's not sure if the plastic mold that's cracked is an actual part. If something like so exists, it would be much helpful because the entire bumper wouldn't have to be replaced.
The part you have circled should be removal (at least it is on the E36). What that is, is a guide for the bumper to hold the end on. Youll see the part opposite it, that is what the circled part slides onto. From this angle its hard to see where the part is broken.
I have attached a link to the part diagram. However it doesnt list a part number for the circled part. Part #27 is the one that the bumper slides onto. Again, on my E36 its replaceable as it just pops out. I would if possible, remove the bumper and see if it is removable as it should have a BMW part number stamped on it. Or, give your local dealership a call and see if they can dig on up.
