Hard feel on accelerator pedal!!!

I have a 2000 528i with 97 K on the clock. The accelerator pedal seems very hard.To an extent that my right foot pains after half an hour of driving.

Is thers any way to make it softer.Change the cables..?

It a drive by wire system, so the only way to get the pedal to soften up is to replace the whole accel pedal.

Lubrication won't help, it's a replacement item.

the pedal assembly only (as I said before this is a DRIVE BY WIRE system which means the throttle and the pedal are not connected by cable) there should be a little resistance, but unless you are the BIGGEST couch potato EVER it should not wear you out or give you pain...I just took a 5hr trip and I can honestly say I didn't feel a thing
