I am new here and just wanted to say hi. Always wanted BMW and I finally managed to get one. I am going to pick her up next saturday. It's 2001 525i with manual tranny. Black and grey leather and "alluminum" accents. I am sooo stoked!!! I can't wait to go and pick her up!
Does anyone know good places where I can find misc parts for my new baby? Besides ebay of course....
Welcome to the forums, and I hope you enjoy the 5er.
As far as parts/ upgrades go... eBay, BavAuto.com, Turner Motorsports (you have to google this one... i dont know their url). There is a whole lot of others but I can't remember.
This will be my first BMW. I really wanted 330ci but I just couldn't pass the deal up on 5 series that I got. 2001 with 30k miles for 23k bucks...granted I haven't see the car yet since I bought it via autotrader.com but the car was checked out and everything came up clean. It supposely have not a one scratch on it. I am flying to pick her up with my buddy, and the dealer will pick us up from the airport in the car so this way I can "test drive" it...I dunno why because the car is almost brand new
As soon as I get her, I will post pics. It will be next sunday.
This sucks! I can't wait! I have to sit out this whole week and think about the car! I am already looking up for some stuff for her! lol

Heh, dont be scarred, you wont spend too much. Given this:
My e34 needed new front suspension work, new rear tires, et al. Total cost: 1200 bucks parts + labor
so i got my car for 6500 with 124K on the odometer, + 1200 bucks, i Still got a decent deal on the car, no other problems have appeared (that I couldnt fix myself with a few hours)
As far as preformance parts go, sky's the limit, how bad do you want your ride to be?
Be prepared, you will see why people love BMWs... I love em so much I have 3!
