I'm purchasing a set of 19" wheels for my stock 2000 540i sport. I've been told by various wheel manufacturers I need to purchase the following tire sizes (based on what their vehicle manual specifies for plus-sizing the 540):
Front 245/35/19
Rear 275/30/19
Ouestion #1: Is it true that these are the only tire sizes I should consider? (assuming that I'm not interested in having to lower my car, or flare out the fenders, or otherwise modify it)
Question #2: When purchasing 19" tires, is there really a difference between a Michelin (which sells for about $350/tire) and a less expensive tire, say a Falken (which sells for about $200/tire)?
Driving conditions: I live in Florida, so there's no snow to deal with, and the roads are, for the most part, in excellent condition.
