My BM just died on me this morning as if it had run out of petrol. The AA towed me home and the mech said that it might be the fuel pump. I removed the pump and checked it, fitted it back in the car and it is working. (I checked by removing the outgoing fuel line to make sure !).
The car will still not start but is turning over nicely on ignition. I'm at a loss to what to do next as I don't recognise anything under the bonnet - it's not like my old Cortina !!
Has anyone experienced this problem or got any tips ? It would be nice to know where the fuel line comes into the engine so that I could disconnect it and make sure that the fuel is flowing.
im not too sure but some models have a lift pump fitted as well as the fuel pump this could be faulty locate the injetors trace back to find fuel line there may be two lines one is the return you could also try a squirt of carb cleaner in the intake pipe from the air cleaner while cranking over the engine if it then fires up and dies u know then its fuel related also check plugs they could be fouled up with all that turning over clean refit try again good luck hope this helps regards jimbob
