As a victim of the HPFP failure on my 2008 535i, I'm not sure how to feel about BMW FINALLY issuing a recall. I guess they could not get away with ignoring it any longer or blaming it on 'bad gas.'
My new HPFP has been working fine for 6 months, but when I take long trips, it is always in the back of my mind.
The recall will supposedly involve a software update and MAYBE replacement of the HPFP.
Does anyone know exactly what the repair will entail? Since I already had the HPFP replaced, do I still need to bring my car in? Will they just need to update the software, or do I need another new HPFP?
I'm going on another long trip in a week and suddenly I'm worried again about my car making it without experiencing another HPFP failure...
