| Frozen suspension! Has anyone ever had a front control arm joints freeze from slush and snow accumulation? I know this sounds wacky but it happened to me.
Today, I was able to get out on the interstate after several days of sub freezing weather and snow. Apparently, when I went out the other day my front right control arm joint became encased in slush and snow. Not sure why it was just the right front joint but it was. In addition to this build up, I think maybe the snow from the top of the car slightly melted yesterday and ran down onto the joint. Last night, the low temperature refroze the melted snow on top of the slush encased joint.
So, as I am going down the interstate I feel like I am sitting on the edge of a bouncing trampoline. Alarmed as I was, I pulled over to look at what could be wrong and it was clearly evident my right front suspension was encased in 1/2" of ice!!! After I discovered the ice, I got back behind the wheel and did a series of very hard left to right maneuvers that freed the joint from the ice.
Just thought I would share.
