Sounds like it's related to your electrical problem. I'd eliminate your known problem first before you go hunting for this one. It would make it much easier to eliminate possibilities.
I'm sorry, but...when you say "vanity lite slide moves steering column", do you mean that when you adjust the light on the vanity mirror the steering wheel moves? LOL, I know it sucks, but I find that hilarious
