Well, it took me three long days, but I got it all done. (Happy Thanksgiving)The parts from "foriegn car parts online" seem fine. -the test will be in how long they last.
new:
FCP online kit =
-------------------
Control arms
Thrust arms - with the heavy duty 750il bushing upgrade
Left and right Tie rods
Sway bar links
-------------------
I didn't replace the idler arm that came with FPC's kit. I couldn't SEE any wear.
The car feels way tighter and and barely rolls in fast turns. The shocks are a bit stiff for a few of our bumpy louisiana roads, but I'm extremely happy with them in smooth cornering applications.
I had hoped that my 55-65 mph shimmy would disapear with all new balljoints, but it still there. Sometimes it's worse than others. If I'm accelerating through those speeds I never notice it, but if I let off the throttle or drive at a constant 58~ it's a bit shaky.
Could it be that idler arm I left out? or do I need to give the tire shop another try at balancing the wheels? Other ideas?
As soon as spring rolls around, I'm getting the Bilstein Tourings, and probably full metal, race heavy-duty thrust arm bushings (if they go on sale by then -- currently being developed )
Emir, I talked to the shop. I forgot what price they said but I think they said the can give you those H&R sports for $240 or something. Then pick up bilstein sports
