Fog Lights HID Xenon Problem

So i was going to put HID Xenon Lights in my cars fog lights.

The guy installs the lights and when he connected them they only flickered and didn't seem to work correctly, he tried 10 different brands, same result.


I was told by the guy, who supposedly now what hes talking about, that the 5 series either come with HID Xenon in the fog lights or they don't, obviously im the latter.
He said that the 5 series that dont come with the HID in the fog lights cant be fitted for after-market ones, is this true, normal yellow fog lights forever for me??

If its not true even better, what brand do you guys recommend, if not what super wight bulbs can I get for my fog lights that can match the best with the HID in my headlights?
