Fog light problem E-34

Help! I have an 89 525I. When the lights are on, the driver side fog light comes on, the passenger side does not. When I turn on the fog lights, both turn on and the dash display shows "Fog Lights", when I turn off the fog lights, the display remains and can only be reset by turning the car off. I assume it is a relay problems, but where?

could be your LKM...

I had this "problem" on my last e34... fog lights stayed on no matter what you did with the switch on the dash... turning the switch on brought that message up... however my fog lights stayed on no matter what, even with high beams..

I actually started to like it. It could be a short in the wire to your other fog light?

I think it is more likely a bad relay or switch
