Ok, I had a flat tire yesterday. No big deal you say!!
Well, I have ACs wheels on my car. The spare tire is a full size std BMW wheel (on 540's). Anyway, as I tried removing the wheel, I discovered the the spare wheel would not fit into the hub. The holes did line-up but the hub was much larger. I had to tow the car to a tire shop and fix the old tire.
As many of you know, when you have low profile tires on your car, there is hardly any sidewall support in it. So if you get a flat, pull over ASAP to avoid putting extra stress on your flat as you may have to buy a new tire. If you guys get a chance, check your spare wheel and make sure you won't run into this problem. Lucky for me, I was at work.
I guess I'll be spending $1000 for a spare.... ouch!!
I ripped my rear tire once from a flat. The whole tire was cut into 2 pieces by the wheel, fortunately the wheel was not damaged coz' I stopped in time. Good news was, I was then ready to replace all 4 of the noisy Toyos.
You gotta be careful with low profile tires coz' the sidewalls are stiffer and you can't really tell if they are low on air just by sight.
