Was going through my parts for cooling system overhaul the other day and noticed that the new fan clutch (fc) which was wrapped in a plastic bag had a small amount of oil in the bag.
Would this indicate the fc had a leak and therefore faulty?, can these fc's leak?
Probably not a great sign for a new part. Go back to the supplier of the part and ask them for a replacement or a written assurance that its not faulty. I've heard of these clutches failing and taking out the fan and parts physically around it.
