I have a 99 540I sport and when I set the alarm and lock the doors the alarm will siren will go off randomly. I replaced the motion sensor inside the vehicle and it still does it.
one of your sensors is not connecting properly, my mate just had the same problem and his boot (trunk) sensor was corroded, so check all the contacts under the bonnet (hood) and doors.

I had the same problem and it took me a while but I figured it out. You have a hood sensor on the drivers side under the hood. 9 times out of 10 that is it. I just unplugged mine and never had another problem.
