E39 Trans/diff Oil Replacement???

Anybody done this??? (I know there is, but are they reading this post?)

Does it really matter which one goes in there....I dont really think so. After all its just a manual transmission....soooo its a BMW 6sp....still just a bunch of gear cogs!

here's what the dude at Royal Purple says;

No label would be Max Gear 75w90.

From the book.
Units that are factory filled with AF or GLS are fitted with 17mm
external hex head drain and fill plugs.

Units that are factory with GL-4 are fitted with 17mm internal
hex(allen) head drain and fill plugs.


Label: should be something on the passenger side to indicate what oil to use.

SYCNROMAX ITS IS..... but what about the Differential...gear oil I am guessing. Anyone else hav any experience/comments....wow, no interest here!?!?!

I've used both syncromax is for your Getrag 6 speed trans. and Maxgear is for your differential.
