E39 need advice before buying !

I had 2 x E36 until now and now I am looking to buy something bigger but not
as faster as I had before (baby on the way) and with some more space and
I ended up looking at some 520's and as wife must drive to I decided for an automatic steptronic transmision.

So I am looking to buy a 520 E39 (Europe) with steptronic.
What should I check at the car before buying ? Any things in particular ?

milage
after 60k miles tons of stuff may go wrong
after 100-110k miles if that stuff hasn't been fixed, you'll see.
so if at 110k it drives like new, get it
if it got way under 60k get it

common problems : radiator failures, shocks go at around 60-80k miles, electronic problems... CUPHOLDERS!
