E39 Monitor Problem

my '98 5 series has a tv, however the colours of the screen are all mixed up. much as in a tv that only shows the blue or green channel. the screen is readable and usable but simply looks like a dodgy old telly. anyone had something similar and know of a fix. or where a good source of OEM parts might be for these bits.

Yep......I've exactly the same problem in my 97 540.
A couple of car dealers down here in New Zealand say you have to replace the entire moniter (screen).............whether that is the case i'm not sure ?
Quite frankly I reckon they are a basterd of a thing......just another thing to go wrong.
Is there anyone out there that has had the same trouble ?
Another bloke told me to get a used one out of a wreck in Japan.The roads over there are alive with BMW and our other german friends.
