E39 fuel consumption

Hi All,

just bought a immaculate E39 1996 528 I, im getting around 15 litres per 100km with city driving is this normal?

That's about 16 miles per gallon. When I used to have a 528i (1997), I would get about 18-20 miles per gallon in the city. 16 mpg's is more like 540i territory.

Out of curiousity, what was the day your car was built?

I'm getting 36 around town 45+ on motorways, 34 if I drive like a tw*t but it is diesel E39 2.5
