E39 Front End suspension

My front, driver side makes a clunking noise over minor bumps. The struts were replaced fairly recently. Sway bar seems tight. Any tests recommended to isolate the problem? I cringe when I drive it. Thanks for any suggestions. 1997 528i with 135,000 miles.

I'd have a look at the lower control arm bushings.

LOS is an unknown quantity at this point
From experience, make sure "ALL" the bolts are properly tight including struts. I had a similar problem. One of the bolts on the sway bar was loose when I replaced it!
