well, it's a common cup holder solution for 5-ers.
Actually, this guy from 540i6 has adesign kind of like this and selling them for $30+ bucks! and people love it!! i think Eric had this cup in his 5-er.
Just went to walmart and hey -- it was $1.87 for 4 cups holders!
gonna put them in tomorrow and let everyone know how it is.

He just copied this with cheep plastic ones from wal-mart. BMW Cup Holders, Porsche Cup Holders, Ultimate Cup Holder - Cupholders / Drink Holders for BMW 3 5 7 Series, Boxster 911 Z4 Mercedes Audi NSX other fine cars.

I went ahead and bought the $80 TEC one from BavAuto. Expensive, but perfect OEM-like fit and finish, and works really well. Even on those occasions when I hit my drink with my elbow while shifting, it doesn't spill!

well, i bought them for 1.97 (with 5% MD tax) for set of 4 in Walmart.
Put only 1 on driver's side. So far no complaints at all, though i'm not used to it yet.
I guess my future complaint will be the ease of use, since you really have to get used to the location of holder to put the drink back in, since you can't see where the holder is at.
