E39 Burning Oil

I am new to this forum as I am on my 1st BMW.

I have an automatic with 35K on the clock and is driven in normal style and conditions but has just burned 1L of oil in 3 months and there is no sign of leakage.

Has anyone had this experience?

I own 2001 530i and I add about .5 litre of oil every other week. I have heard that it is very normal for streight 6 engines, especially when your driving style is to go above 4,000 rpm often. Call the dealer and make sure it is true. I don't worry about it myself.

Thnaks for the reassurance - it is due a service soon and will get the dealer to double check.
