E39 523i touring manuel transmission synchromesh?
Hi I have a e39 523i year 2000 about 220000km 5 speed manuel transmission, when the car is cold (5 degress celsius) and running in 4th gear with 2000-2500rpm, then when i push the clutch to the floor and make a nice and gentle shit to 3rd gear i can hear the gears grinding wery shortly.
When the car gets a little warm (5-10min) it downshifts with no problem.
Is it the synchro mesh, it's only from 4th to 3rd?
Or can it be the oil? I don't think it has ever been changed.
