The Deuce is an unknown quantity at this point
E39 - 2002 530i Won't Engage Park/Igntion Interlock

My 530 is having issues engaging park. It recently dropped below freezing (woo hoo Chicago) and yesterday I was stuck in the garage because I could not get the car to register park.

The car will shift normal between any other gears, including the steptronic. Has anyone else had this issue, or have any suggestions where to look.

Thanks!

Has this only happened since the drop in temp ? as if so I would go for the selector switch, as with all BM switches, certain ones dont like the cold, I have a problem every year with my rear door actuators when it gets cold I have to take the door lock apart, take the actuators apart grease them then there fine until next winter, strange but it just happens, asked BM who just said: one of them things!!!
