Unhappy

I have a 1990 BMW 525I. The speedometer all of a sudden is not working. Besides the obvious, like lose speedometer cable, what else could it be?

Thanks in advance for any help

Well it shows how little I know about this car, ther is no speedometer cable, it uses a speed sender switch. Anyway I looked in my Bently manual and found the problem, broken wire to the sender switch, fixed and all is working.

I guess I should have looked in the book first, sometimes I am an idiot.
