Hey all, I've recently come into a bit of CB Radio Equipment which i intend to use as a scanner. Looking at the information I've been able to gather from the company who made it, I need a postitive and negative lead. The negative i'm fairly sure i can hook to a ground rather easily, however, I'd like to keep my sound system in tact and mount the CB radio elsewhere. So, Where can i find an unused positive lead that is only active when the car is on or in accessories mode? If none are available, how might I create one?

Use a test lamp to search for a source that is only powered with the key on. Best to use a good strong source like one of the larger wires coming directly off of the igniton switch. Make sure to make s good connection by either soldering or using a High quality Tap-in connector. Also make sure you have a good grounding point. You dont want the scanner causing interference with your audio system etc.
