I purchased this M5 earlier this month , they're reasonably rare in Indonesia (6 confirmed and maybe up to 15 E34 M5s here tucked away in collections)

The car feels tight with no rattles , squeaks and goes like hell without hesitation.

My goal is to bring the M5 back to top condition with a minimum amount of modification and drive it for at least the next 10 to 20 years.

Mods will be done only if it's cheaper and outperforms the OEM equipment , for example I'll be putting on slotted and cross drilled disks when they're due.

That is a faboulous M5! Slotted and drilled rotors arent actually better then stock. If your going to track the car, then they can be. For for street applications OEM rotors and pads are fully sufficient. I have ATE pads on mine with OEM style rotors.

Yes , I'm finding out that most of the OEM components are hard to improve on

The M5 has only travelled 2,000kms (700kms are mine) since 1998 so there's a few small problems like air conditioning and the sunroof jammed closed the other day as the systems slowly come back online or fail after such a long period of inactivity.

The best points of the car was it was a tropical climate delivery and the cooling system handles Indonesia's heat with ease, full leather interior , reasonably low kms (52,000km when I bought it , approx 30,000 miles) and ZERO corrosion , I can't find any panel with rust in it.

I've been on a steep learning curve the last 3 weeks as I learn the M5's systems , operating and maintenance quirks and tricks.
