e34 head swap to an e39 block?

Hello i was wondering if i could swap a 94 e34 head onto a 98 e39 block? Both engines are vanos. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I donno.... i would think they would be different as one is OBD1 and the other is OBD2.....

But wouldnt that refer to the wiring harness? I read somewhere that the m52 is basically a bored over m50. Considering i'm not planning on using the e39 head, couldnt I just bolt the e34 m50 head to the m52 block and keep using the factory wiring harness? Instead of dropping in the e39 block and head and having to use the e39 harness converting it to obd2.
