E34 Electrical Problems. Please Help!

I had an intermitant problem that has gotten worse.
I used to loose power to my radio, obc, automatic interior lights(i can still turn them on manually), door locks(inside or out), and wipers. Now they appear to have quit for good. forgot to check if my mirrors and power seats are working. I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems and if i could get some idea of where to start looking.

I have the same type of issues on a 98 528. I havent fixed it yet but everyone tells me it is the ignition switch. A $50 part that would take them about 2 hours to install so total cost about $200. My is still intermittant problems that is why I have not fixed it yet.
